About Dragongender
Dragongender (or dracogender) is a Xenogender that embodies a concept of one having a core gender that one cherishes, defends, and treats as a home in the same way a dragon may treat its hoard of gold and jewels. One feels somewhat separated from their core gender but at the same time, still attached. One may also not even necessarily have a core gender, but instead picks pieces of attributes and feelings that resonate with them and combine them into their 'hoard', just as a dragon would pick gold items, jewels, and other treasures and stack them into a pile.
Dragongender was largely inspired by the ideas and structure of plantgender, specifically in that plantgender has a "foundational gender" which gives life and energy into one's unique gender and gender experience.
Those who are dragongender may also imagine oneself as a specific dragon with unique attributes such as dragon species, colors, horns, scales, etc., although to the specific person who coined the term, this is mostly for fun and confidence-building.
The person who coined this label is neurodivergent, having been diagnosed with ADHD. Thus, this label has a lot of personal meaning and is used as a method of grappling with an abstract concept that would otherwise be very difficult to grasp. That said, anyone is welcome to use the label as long as its meaning resonates with them.
Below are the specific meanings to each of the colors in the dragongender flag. Overall, the design of the flag is meant to resemble light reflecting off of gold coins illuminating a dark cave.
